Farcry 4, Alien: Isolation & The Last of Us take home the BAFTAs for Game Audio

Fantastic talents were displayed at the BAFTA Games Awards this year, including a beautiful opening performance of Earth to Earth from Professional singer/songwriter Riva Taylor. Here’s a lovely behind the scenes video:

Rufus Hound presented the prestigious event with intelligent humour and a fantastic stage presence. After the presentation of Persistent Game to League of Legends, he paid loving respect to the late Terry Pratchett who we are all very sad to learn of his passing.
Though there is much dispute over some of the other wawards, especially Destiny for Best Game, we are here to discuss AUDIO!

Farcry 4 was announced first with the award for Music going to Tony Gronick and Cliff Martinez, collected by Lead Designer Clark Davis.

Ashley Johnson was there in person to collect her award Performer, for her performance as Ellie in The Last of Us: Left Behind, after winning last year and sadly not being able to attend. Known for being humble and shy from the public eye, Ashley gave a heartwarming speech as well as collecting the award for Best Story also for The Last of Us: Left Behind on behalf of Naughty Dog Studios.

Finally Audio Achievement was awarded to Creative Assembly’s Alien: Isolation, which was the highest nominated game this year with 6 nominations, however this was their only win. The award was collected by Sam Cooper & Byron Bullock.

Sam Hughes catches up with the BAFTA Games Awards Winners, nominees and presenters, including the above winners as well as, Riva Taylor, Tim Schafer, Linford Christie and the OlliOlli team!
